    Hey guys,

I have an Inspiron E1705, long out of warranty, with a broken graphics card. I am looking to invest in a new one from eBay, but is there a way I can purchase third-party insurance for it? Now that the card has failed on me once already I am kind of wary.

    TIA.

Thanks for your relply BB. I read, however, that Square Trade has a pretty bad reputation. Is that reputation component specific or is there an alternative to insuring my GPU?

I'd just stick with the manufacturer's warranty. If you are buying it new, then you will most likely be able to extend your warranty directly from the manufacturer.

I'm buying this GPU from an eBay source. Dell wants twice as much for a refurbished one and already shipped me a defected one, so I'm staying away from them. Otherwise, there is no place I can get a warranty as the 7900GS is OOP and one can only find refurbished ones nowadays.

Oh, I thought you meant you were buying a new laptop. No one guarantees refurbed parts unless you go with Square Trade. I haven't used them so I can't comment on the service.
