I've hooked my Dell XPS M1330 to my Panasonic 32" LCD TV via. HDMI, looking forward to some digital audio & video goodness! DVD Video playback was fine, but there wasn't any audio...I did the usual, headed to audio options and made sure the HDMI output was the default selection, but still no good...but, there's a twist! I can listen to any other type of audio (MP3's, windows sounds), but no such luck from my DVD movies. I've made sure that the player wasn't muted (Windows Media Player)...I've noticed on some initial googling that most laptop HDMI outputs don't support audio, but I thought the fact that some audio played ok, shouldn't all? Any suggestions? Cheers

Were you able to resolve your problem? I have an M1330 with 8400GS card, and I haven't tried the hdmi output yet. I am waiting for the cable to be delivered. I hope I don't run into similar problems.

How good is your cable? I have got hold of some cheap no-name cables that do only video but no audio!
