Well, my dell inspiron 9400 is in a bit of a pickle. Today as I turned it on, all i got was was a blank grey screen. I powered off the laptop, and restarted it. Same thing as before, just now the num lock light was on while the other two blinked. Next, i tried to get into bios, but no reaction. Finally, i plugged it into my tv and got a (slightly garbled) image on the tv and the laptop screen went black as it should. If I did nothing, it would not boot and would go to an error screen reading
I still didn't manage to get into the bios, but I did get into safe mode. The blinking lights seem to mean that there is a problem with ram, but this would appear to be a completely unrelated issue dispute the fact that it occurred at the same time this issue started up? The next time I restarted it didn't happen. As for the screen, it looks like it could possible be a bad inverter, cable, or the screen itself that kicked the bucket. Any ideas?
