Can i claim warranty on my laptop battery?
-
There is a one year warranty on the laptop battery see this:
Battery FAQ
Q Why does the battery have a different warranty period than my system?
A Dell's standard battery warranty is one year. Batteries are a consumable item. All batteries degrade with time and use. The warranty is very similar to common auto warranties which exclude consumable items such as tires.
For copy of Ltd Hardware Warranty, write Dell USA LP, Attn: Warranties, One Dell Way, Round Rock, TX 78682 or see Dell Terms of Sale, License Agreements & Policies | Dell. -

As long as you are in warranty and it is genuinely defective (completely dead or like 15 minutes battery), but NO manufacturer will warranty like normally was 5 hours and now is 4 they will not accept an RMA. I've maybe ordered 3 batteries under warranty out of thousands of computers I fix at work.

It is pretty hard to get them to replace a battery. It basically needs to be dead. My last Dell outlet purchase had considerable wear out of the box, around 17%, and Dell didn't care.

^^Not true!
I got Dell to replace the battery and brick on my 1530 (2x's), because the first time it wouldn't hold a charge (the internal socket for the cord was loose), and it happened another time. So they, just sent me a another new battery and power brick. -

Laptop warranty like the built-in (automatic) are not very useful. The accidental damage protection is expensive and doesn't even include a lot of things like act of nature. (Earthquake, flood, hurricane, etc)

^^Dell's Accidental warranty coverage is pretty good. And, if you get it at time of laptop purchase, you can usually get some savings on it. I have found that getting after purchase the pricing tends to be a bit higher.
