Hi Guys,
I sent my 1520 in for an LCD replacement, and I was wondering if i could find out what LCD they put in without actually taking the system out of the box incase they replaced it with another sammy.
Thanks

Um...probably not, i dont see whats wrong with opening the box, i mean, unless it was packaged like new you could just open it carefully and seal it back up if you had any problems
didnt you specify what kind of LCD you wanted though?
you could contact them with your order number failing all else
good luck -
No I didnt specify what LCD I wanted... I probably should have but I did not feel like jumping thru hoops for the techs.
Thanks -
Eh, well then i guess you could call them and give them your order number or whatever it is that they use to keep track of it and ask
-
your best bet is to give them a call and ask for part number.
-
ah, well....that is probably easier than what i thought of...yes, do that, its a good idea ,then google the part number >.>
-
I will do that thanks for your suggestions guys, I hope it wasnt a rush job on my laptop... they got it yesterday and it was shipped out today...
Thanks -
Update I got the part # its WK767 could you guys tell me what Manufacter that is?.
Thanks -
I tried searching for that part # but it seems everyone has all the Dell part #'s but this 1...? lol
-
well, im getting freakin DRYERS
must do a bit more research....
or, you should probably call and ask them what kind of LCD it is, all I can find are dryers, which im pretty sure are completely and utterly unrelated....
yea, you should call them and ask the specs
good luck -
Thats what i got too, searched countless sites that sell replacements LCDs.. no luck lol, i'll jump on Dell Chat and see if i can get this resolved =) Thanks for your help.
-
Lol, no problem, and once again...good luck
-
Well it seems that part # is another Samsung... im glad i missed the DHL guy... because the system is going back... *sigh*
-
sorry about that m8, good luck with getting the screen that you want
-
Maybe im over reacting... perhaps i'll give it a chance.. all samsungs cant be bad can they?.
-
No idea, i dont really differentiate by brand but ive never ahd any kind of samsung screen so i cant really tell you, the one that you had before may have just been defective
-
I'll be getting my laptop today and i will report on how the LCD is.. unfortunately if this 1 is bad I'm not sure what i can do since im past the 21 day period? can I just request a new system?.
Thanks -
wait, 21 day period? from the company that replaced the LCD period?
if its bad then aren't they required to replace it because it was their folly in giving you a screen taht was nonfunctional
but i do need to know, 21 day period from whom? -
Sorry should have clarifyed I'm past the 21 day System Return Period it expired on the 10th. I was still within the 21 day window when i got the LCD replaced.
-
Eheh, well thats wierd, whod you order it from, cause its normally like amonth or something that you can return it in....
isnt it still under warrranty though, so if its bad part, theyre still required to replace it -
I ordered the Laptop from the Dell US site, and I got the 1 year standard Depot warrenty with the system. I called and complained about my LCD being grainy and I got it replaced... I have yet to recieve the system tho.. something has heppened to the DHL driver...
Thanks
Edit... DHL says laptop aint comming till monday.. they friggin suck so much... ugh im so pissed -
DHL w/ dell has terrible service,
if its under warranty and the LCD is grainy and stuff they are required to replace it
my laptop gets here on wednesday......UPS
im so excited -
They did replace the LCD =) just with another Sammy... I Just hope its better then the 1 that I had i'll let u know when i recieve it... IF DHL comes on monday lol.
Thanks -
