On my 1720, the display has shifted, or black bared me, as you can see here in this picture:

I have tried many settings on the computer, as well as cleaning out all my nvidia drivers and installing them back. There seems to be no solution. How do I fix this?

Well, on my desktop the ati graphics card has an option to change the orientation of the screen, but I have yet to find this option on the dell dumbed down nvidia one

Same with me. I know this is a minor problem... but it totally sticks out everytime I look at the screen... its quite annoying, grr.

Try going into the graphics control panel and look for something called scaling, and fiddle around with that.

Is it still visible when you are in the BIOS?

How does the bottom of the screen look?
Most cases have some leeway so that if the case is bent, the parts inside are able to shift instead of being damaged; IMO it just looks like the whole panel has moved down by a bit (is the resolution of the screen still the same?).

If it is visible in the BIOS then it is likely that either your GPU or your display has failed rather than a driver problem. Do you have access to an external display - can you see the same black bar then?

The bottom of the screen is still fine. Yup, resolution is the same as well.

I will have to try this sometime soon, I can't at the moment. I'll post my results.
