I have my settings for my laptop to STAY RUNNING and to NOT shut off the screen when I close the lid, but on me E1705 Laptop, the screen STILL shuts off sometimes when I shut my laptop lid, and then i open it back up, the screen will stay black, but the laptop and harddrive will continue to be running. I press a bunch of buttons, but the screen doesn't refresh back to normal, and thus this causes me to restart the laptop and sometimes if I have a bunch of windows open or was doing work, it can disrupt me.

Is there any solution to this problem at all? It happens quite often.
