I noticed today that even though my Dell Inspiron E1705 has been working fine the power light won't turn on. The lgiht I'm refering to is the circle with a line sticking through the top that is normally on when the laptop is on.

The laptops only 1.5 years old now so it seems unlikely that its burnt out. Don't LED's last years? The battery light still blinks like it is supposed to. What can I try to fix the power light? I already tried restarting.

Yeah most likely it just died. LEDs do last a long time, but you can get bad ones.

*DELL TECH* The Led has gone out, it won't effect anything. However if you are still under warranty you can call tech support and have the MOBO replaced as that is where the LED is located. :)

Actually, it fixed some how. I didn't do or change anything but I was playing Guild Wars and it just poped back on. This is like the time a button on my mouse stopped working, but after I reformated my computer(forced to, no one told me to make a new Vista Repair disk for SP1...) it fixed.
