Ok i know there´s a LOT of e1505/6400 threads floating around in here atm.

Despite i have a few last minutes q´s i´d like cleared out before i´m taking the plunge on the inspiron 6400.

    I´ll be getting the 2Ghz T2500, 1GB of 533mhz ram, 80gb 5400rpm, X1300, 9 Cell battery loaded with MCE.

    1. What kind of battery time will i be facing with the 9 celll battery in the above mentioned config?

    2. Regarding the snazzy QuickSnap - can i upgrade to that later, or will it have to be ordered at the same time - thinking about wheter it´s possible just to add in later when i feel like it?

    3. My first thougt was to upgrade to the 100gb 7200rpm disk but here in Denmark thats an extra 220$ upgrade!! So i´ll be upgrading that later on, in that case i´ll also have the spare 80gb left.

    4. Have any of you tried doing some light video encoding on one of these babies? I´ll be using it for home video encoding - never done it before! But i guess the core duo is up for the job when parred with a 7200rpm disk.

I cant speak from experience as I have the E1705 - but I'll try to answer some of them...

    1. I have the 9-cell also and usually get about 2.5 hours depending on what I'm doing. Remember, since you are getting that nice T2500 you are also going to experience first hand the wonderful M$oft USB 2.0 bug.

    2. The quicksnap can be ordered anytime from the E&A part of the DHell site. Might want to check the price though - as I know sometimes accessories are cheaper if you order with the system.

    3. I wouldn't upgrade the HDD with DHell. Go with something like: Hitachi 7K100 Travelstar 100GB price search

    4. I have no idea. :(

    Hope this helps! Good luck!

yeah it helped;-) wow 2.5 hrs wasnt nearly as much as i hoped for!!

Also what usb 2.0 bug are you referring to? Have a couple of usb 2 ext. harddrives, it would be a major downer if i´m not able to use them at usb 2 speed!!!
