    My Laptop just suddenly died.
I turned it off to check how many mem stick I had in it.
I unscrewed the cover (didn't though anything) covered it again, turned it over and hit the power button and nothing happened.
It's been a week and still nothing.
    Any help please..

Well the week wouldn't help much but you could have knocked the wire connecting the power button and the motherboard.

Doubt it though. Did you take propper anti-static precautions? Could be a static discharge although it doesn't REALLY sound like one.

    No Static, I'm sure.
All I did was take the cover off and put it back on without touching anything, than flipped it over and pressed the power.

Oh right. Have you put the case back on correctly? It could be an auto-cutoff for when it thinks the protection cover is not on.

    Checked it, don't see anything.

You would think something would light up, but nothing at all.
Is there a power supply in there?

I can't rule it out totally but I doubt it. Sorry I can't suggest much more. I'll ask around - see if anyone knows for you.

    Thanks for the help.
It's just so odd, it was on, I turned it off, flip it over open the ram cover to see what type of Ram was in there (didn't take it out) close everything, flip it back, and no power. Too bad, It's a good laptop, even the 2 batteries I have still keep full power. If I can't fix it I will have to sell it on ebay. Hope I can get a few $$ for it.

Yeh, If you really want to sell it then it should bring in the cash - hopefully.

    Shame really though.

Good old C610 hey. Its possibly the power button, as my reset button is dead. I turned on my C610 the other day and got a power surge on the usb. If I connect any device to the usb port it will power up but not device works at all.

I ran knoppix (Linux GUI) and the same issue. Luckily I have a spare motherboard for my C610, which is in working condition. So I have to change all that for one usb port. Hopefully I don't get a problem like that.

So with the obvious first off have you checked the power pack or battery's?

Like I said earlier its propbably the power button. Just lok to the top left of the c610's keyboard and there is a small section were you can place something to lft the cover that covers the power button. Remove it and press the power button with a small object and see what happens.
