I have a Latitude D420 with Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG network adapter, paired with a Netgear WGT624v3 (108 Mbps) wireless router. With the Intel 3945 I of course am only able to get speeds up to 54 Mbps. I want to know if I it would be feasible to upgrade to the Intel 4965AGN, and if so how would it pair with the Netgear router? Would I be able to reach speeds up to 108 Mbps? TIA.

It depends what you are doing. If you are surfing the internet the no. You will never max your internet connection out on a 54g connection let alone an n connection. If you transfer files between pc's wirelessly then it might be worth it.

Surfing speed seems to be fine, however, downloading files is much slower than my desktop. I just wanted to confirm if this would increase my download speeds, and also would this device be compatible with my machine? Thanks.
