This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Latitude D530 : Why is Embassy Suite included?

    Ok..new system here...and looking at preloaded items...see that there's this "Security by Wave Systems" entry pointing to "Embassy Trust Suite"...ok, now I'm :confused: confused because as I understand it (limited research done) this software is related to a fingerprint reader which, as I recall, isn't an option on this system. So did they just include this to confuse me? Or is there some reason to have it? Since it says it uses a TPM chip that I don't recognize as being anywhere in D530 specs.
