I would like to purchase a Latitude D610 with a 7200 RPM Drive. THe Dell web site only list 4200 and 5400 RPM drive for the 610. The 810 has a 7200 RPM option.

Is there a limitation with the 610? If not is there a way to order it from Dell with the faster drive?

most likely there is not. Dell likes to do that, they have "stages" for their systems and if you want a better feature, sometimes that requires the higher model. You can call them and ask a sales person, but im going with no on this one.

    *Dell Inspiron 9300, P-M 1.86ghz 533mhz FSB, 1GB DDR2 533mhz ram, 17inch UXGA+ screen with TrueLife, 256mb Nvidia GeForce 6800, 60gb 7200rpm drive, XP Pro SP2, WiFi*

*Sony MDR-G74SL Headphones for music and gaming, best 40 dollar pair i have ever bought!*

Yeah, I'm sure it is one of Dell's sales tactics at work here. If they have too many of one option, they only list it on the webpage to get rid of the overstock. I'd call and ask to talk to a tech. Don't always rely on what the salespeople tell you. Especially if they are in Manilla.

It is usually cheaper to buy and upgrade it yourself after purchase.
