    Opinions?

I'm having a tough time deciding which one to go for...
I can get both at THE SAME PRICE.

Go for the 6400 as it will be upggradeable to merom cpus in future and a lot faster than Dothan. Dothan (D610) was yesterday's technology, Core Duo (6400) is today's technology and Meron will be tomorrow's technology!

I agree with Sam1. Get the 6400 due to the better processor if they are the same price. :p

The D610 and the i6400 are much more different than the processor. The Latitude D610 is much smaller, more portable, better built: in short, a 14"-screen version of the Latitude 15.4" D810. The 15.4"-screened i6400 is basically a i6000 with a newer processor. The machines are aimed at quite different functions. If you will be carrying the machine around quite a bit (like to and from work on the train, or between lectures), then the D610 is tougher and smaller, without sacrificing a great keyboard. If you are mostly going to use it without carrying around, then the i6400 has a bigger screen.
