This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Latitude D610 with XP SP2 not updating

    Hey, I've got this latitude D610 here (yes, I know, not the world's best laptop, or newest) with XP SP2 on it.
    For some reason, it just doesn't update windows, either through automatic updates or microsoft update... all i get is "the following updates were not installed" after about 5 seconds. This includes a whole host of updates, many security ones and everything but also when I tried SP3.
    It's connected wirelessly to the same connection that my Dell Dimension desktop is connected to, but the Dimension updated fine, including windows xp SP3.
    Any ideas?
