    -Specs?
-New design or same basic appearance?

apologies. yes i saw the other threads, and they are all about a month old. I suppose I should have tagged my question to the end of the old threads, but i figured a new thread would garner more notice. Since feb is fast approaching i figured there might be some fresh info.

Not really. Dell doesn't release information to the public, so anything going around is just rumors. Its probably going to be exactly like the D610 except with dual core.

I can say that they won't be released on Feb 1st. It will be after that, but I can't give anymore details.

I agree with deuxcv. Sometimes starting a new thread on an upcoming product release makes more sense than resurecting an old thread with a bunch of old messages that you have to wade through looking for new info.

I'm also awaiting the release of the D620 and heard some different specs than you imply in your response.

I heard 5 lbs, widescreen (don't know if it's 14 or 15.4) and quite a bit different from the D610. I'm sure everyone who was considering the D610 is waiting to see what the D620 has to offer. I know I am...

You stated that it won't be released on Feb 1st - is this more rumor mill or do you have inside info?

I wasn't saying there is anything wrong with creating a new thread about it. At the same time, the information really hasn't changed and I didn't want a ton of new threads about the new releases. If you go back and look at previous threads, it is basically the same rumors that are going around now. Nothing has really changed.

When i posted my previous post, I was thinking of the E1705/9400 rumors and not the D610, and got the systems switched.

I registered for the Dell webcase that was supposed to take place a few weeks ago. They were supposed to go over the D620, D820 etc.

I got an email from them to say it was re-scheduled to take place on March 17th, 2006. I don't know if that means the machines won't be available until then.

No biggie for me as I got my D610 on 12/02/2005 and love it. After hearing the D620 was going to be widescreen I'm glad I didn't wait. I was gungho on widescreen displays but started looking at them and changed my mind. It isn't an issue of quality it is the physical format.
