Build quality - it seems pretty solid. No flexing in the chasis and the display cover is magnesium alloy. I like the lid latch - a single stainless steel device. Hinges feel a lot stiffer than other D series.

Keyboard - nice and solid, no flexing anywhere! Overall it is a huge improvement over the D600 and D610.

Screen - I know a few people have claimed that the display is dim. It's about the same as other Latitudes of the D series (I have the WXGA 1280x800 display). No, its not nice and glossy but the anti-glare is much better for office work. Everything seems nice and sharp, colors seem to be a bit on the blue side.

Performance - Having the Core Duo is convenient. If one application hogs one core, I still have the other core to do stuff, like post here! I got the integrated graphics because I don't play games. The 945GM seems fine for the programs (MS Office, iTunes, AIM, FireFox) I usually run.

Speaker - surprisingly good for a mono speaker.

I'd say this is a pretty good machine for office work. I upgraded from the base model (1.66 GHz Core Duo, 512MB RAM, 40GB HDD) with a Dell 802.11bg wireless and CD-RW/DVD combo.

If you want to play games and watch movies all the time, buy an Inspiron with graphics card and glossy display. If you're like me and do mostly work stuff, this D620 is great :)

I had the D620 with Intel GMA 950 side by side with the NVIDIA and the difference was definitely noticeable. The screen is SIGNIFICANTLY brighter and can be made brighter using the configuration tool for the NVIDIA. Contrast can also be adjusted and I have configured mine to look as good, to my eye, as a Brightview/Glossy screen. Even if you don't game, that alone was worth the price.
