Whose material is better? which one do you recommend? I am a computer programmer and need to use programs like visual studio 2005 and dreamweaver on a daily basis. I love a good battery life and light weight.

Forget the D620--it has been replaced by the D630.

I was initially interested in the M1330, but the glossy screen drove me away, so I'll be ordered a D630 either today or tomorrow. Just trying to find the best deal...

As for Vista vs. XP, I'm ordering Vista. But you'll want to make sure your existing applications are compatible. For example, I know that Dreamweaver versions prior to CS3 aren't officially compatible, although I never had an issue with Dreamweaver 8 when I was running it...

The M1330 has a low resolution, and is by my count also more expensive that the lattitude. This + the fact that the M1330 has a glossy screen is why im choosing the Lattitude D630.

I had to make the same decision not too long ago. In the end I chose the Latitude D630 because it had more screen real estate, the battery time was phenomenal (9cell, 5 to 6 hours-totally worth it), the keyboard was great , the build quality is excellent since it's a business laptop (it undergoes extensive testing and building materials are better), and the laptop ran cool to the touch. Basically, the M1330 has the same configurations as the D630 except that it's sleeker looking and has a small glossy screen. . I'm not sure what the battery life is on the xps.

It really depends on which style you want and how much you are willing to spend. the M1330 will definitely set you back (assuming you upgrade).

If I had to make the decision again, I'd definitely pick the Latitude D630 (and the 9cell battery is a great investment).

The same spec for the D630 cost at least $500 more on the M1330.

Only thing is the D630 weight 1 lb more.

Meh, for the specs, make sure you account a warranty in...the D630 has a 3 year by default. And don't order them with 2 gigs of ram if possible, its cheaper to upgrade later...

I say D630...I really like how it looks, and the build on my D531 is good.

I heard it was a PAIN to upgrade the d630's memory tho (at least one of the memory slots is located right UNDER the keyboard). :(
