I just bought a Dell Latitude D810 with WSXGA (native resolution of 1680x1050). I find that some text is just too small (is it just me?). I primarily use Office Suite applications and don't do anything that is very graphics intensive.

I'm considering returning it and getting the WXGA 1280x800 native resolution instead, though a Dell sales rep tells me that the WXGA is darker/dimmer and he doesn't recommend it.

Has anyone compared the two? Any thoughts?

You could try increasing the DPI first, see if that helps.

I had a coworker who had the same problem and went with the WXGA and it did not seem any darker at all.

Actually, I did read in a review that the WSXGA+ screen on the D810 is much better than the WXGA, and they recommended that you upgrade to it.

At the office, we are a Dell shop (exclusively Dell), and our IT guys say the same thing.
