Hi all! I just got my new Dell latitude d820 today, and i love it. While researching before i bought it, i have read that heat was not a big issue with the d820, and it fared much better than the d620 in cooling. However, as i work with this laptop the bottom is getting fairly warm. I am curious whether I have a defect, or is it my specs that are producing this heat (meaning it is normal). Latitude d820 owners please share your experiences! thanks to all in advance.

    My d820 specs are:

    Dual Core T2500 2.0ghz
    1.0 gb 667mhz ddr2 RAM
    60gb 7200 rpm drive
    512MB NVIDIA Quadro NVS 120M
    WSXGA+ screen
    9 cell battery
    24x cd reader

please post specific temps as guesses to how hot something is doesn't help. if you post your HD, vid card, cpu, ram, temps we can tell you if they are within safe limits or not.

also, how are you using the notebook: what are you doing? what kind of surface is it on? this information is also helpful.
