    Hi,
I got my Dell Latitude D820 in Feb 2007 and its working great. The only problem I have seen is that I have DVD+-RW TS-L632D, dual layer one, and its not reading/burning DVD+R,after I have already burnt one DVD+R disk of the same brand using the same drive. The DVD+R which I burnt is from the company Dynex which i brought from BestBuy so probably its good enuf. My DVD+-RW drive is made by toshiba samsung I think.

Here is the troubleshooting I did :

    1) Inserted a CD and the drive read it fine. So it suggests drive is working fine.

    2) Inserted a DVD -RW disk which had movie on it and the drive played the movie fine.

Its just that its not reading the DVD+R. Whenever I insert the DVD+R disk, the drive letter changes from DVD-RW (D) to CD Drive (D) and when I try to open or explore, it says D:\ is not accessible, Incorrect function message.

I dont know what is wrong. I went to hardware properties and tried find new drivers but windows says didnt find any new drivers and the current one are the best.

Does anyone know whats wrong? Have you seen something this before? Or is it direct Dell question so that I dont waste time myself figuring this out...

    Thanks in advance....

Are you trying to read the same disk you burned? If so, it could be a coaster and unreadable. So what happens when you put in another Dynex blank?

Alternatively, I would probably try another brand because media quality is important.
