I'm looking to buy a Latitude D830 and am curious about the Bluetooth option. I don't currently use Bluetooth but may in the future.

    1) Is this a card I can add later or is it soldered on the motherboard and needs to be selected at purchase time?

    2) If I buy it now, can I completely disable it (ie, in BIOS) so its not transmitting or wasting battery until I need it in the future?

    3) Is there any difference (besides drivers) between:
    - Dell Wireless® 360 Bluetooth Module for Windows XP
    - Dell Wireless® 360 Bluetooth Module for Windows Vista
I ask because I'll probably stick with XP for now and switch to Vista in the near future.

Many thanks in advance! I just found this resource and think its awesome.

    1. its not soldered, you can add it later very easily.

    2. you can completely disable it

    3. I do not think so.

They have seperate options for XP and Vista so that the correct drivers are put on.
