Latitude D830 Delays?

Hi,

I ordered a Latitude D830 on Friday, August 17th, and I was just wondering if there were any delays on the laptop. I know a lot of people are experiencing long delays. The ESD is September 4th, that is the same day I start college so I am hoping that my PC will arrive BEFORE that date or shortly after. I'm majoring in Computer Science so the computer is going to be a crucial part of my life in college.

I would have ordered it earlier, but the school and Dell just released the D830 with major discounts (close to $800 off). Prior to that, they had the D820 available with the discount, which is an already outdated model, so it didn't seem like a good idea to buy that when I need it for 4 years.

I got it for under $1400 before tax, here's the configuration:

Consider yourself lucky i ordered a d630 on the 12th and my ESD is 9/6/2007. Chances are yours will ship sooner than they say, at least i hope so with mine.

 

And consider yourself lucky I'm in the UK and ordered a D630 on 24th July. Current ESD is 3rd September.

Whatever the problem is at Dell, it seems to be affecting all notebook models...
