Recently acquired a Latitude D830 with MSFT Windows Vista Business, 32-bit edition pre-installed.

Would like to upgrade to 4gb RAM in the not-so-distant future, but you need 64-bit Vista in order to recognize/use the full amount.

I tried the Microsoft 32-bit to 64-bit media upgrade page, but the page recognized, but did not authorize the shipment of 64-bit Vista media for my product ID code.

    1) Do I have to use Dell-specific media to install Vista on this machine using the Vista license that was included with my machine from the factory?

    2) If I call Dell, will they provide me with 64-bit Vista media? Will my existing serial number work?

    3) Could I borrow someone else's 64-bit Vista media, and use my existing license to (legally) install 64-bit Vista on the laptop?

    Thank you.
