As title , xps 13 have usb type-C which latitude didn't have, but the latitude offer a wide range of ports and fingerprint reader thats quite interested.I plan to use it in college for at least 4 years, which I should go for?

If it was me, I would easily pick an XPS 13 with the Iris graphics for college. I think it should be around the same price as the latitudes (that are generally more expensive to begin with) and will offer a great mix of performance and portability. Ports are nice, but with usb-c you can always get a desktop dock down the line and have a plethora of ports. I honestly never really use more than 2 usb ports at a time, so the xps 13 is ample.

I would initially toss out the 12 because the smaller screen would be hard for real work and there really is no benefit to it vs the xps. The 14 is nice with a larger screen, but eh... I'd still go with the xps.

isn't the xps soldered ram? You're going to want 16gb or more of ram in the next few years. There should be almost no difference from the e7450 just a slight upgraded cpu and maybe higher resolution. If you plan on getting just 1080p get the much cheaper e7450 from outlet or the bay.

E7450/7470 comes with 3 yr warranty, even from the outlet store

With the 35% coupon, you can get a e7450 +i5 5200u +1080p matte from the outlet store around $700 (cheapest was $500 last month, but too bad), plus $80 to get a 4th yr of warranty

Ssd, battery, 2 slot sodimm ddr3, all completely user replaceable...

With warranty, you get peace of mind that it'll last minimum of 4 years, and can swap any ssd/battery/RAM up to 16GB(?). Just no USB type c or gaming or thunderbolt though

Why not choose the best of both worlds? The E7370 is the Latitude version of the XPS 13. It has a Core M, but unless you need the performance for a specific program or want to game, then it will be fine for pretty much everything. It also has two USB type c ports and dedicated touchpad buttons.
