This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Latitude owners: How do you disable the Smart Card Reader?

    How do you personally disable the smart card reader? I have a smart card but I am not that much into that level of security.

    I basically right click the USB manager on the bottom right of the screen and 'stop it'. I haven't noticed a difference in battery life as was touted with 'usb devices' being plugged into the machine. :confused:
