What is the least expensive configuration to get a UXGA or WUXGA? Does e1505 have this option or do you have to go with an e1705? Also, I'm not that familiar with their business class models and am wondering if that might be a better option for trying to get a 15.4" high res screen. Also want dual core. Thanks!

For cheapest, inspirons are the way to go.
For a better build quality, go for business models.
There is a terrific dell deal going on, for reference check in the notebook deals subforum.
This guy got a lattitude with a 3 year warranty for ~1300$

The laptop can be upgraded to a WUXGA, should be around 100$ more.

yeah, I've got a Dell Latitude D820 (business version of the E1505, but much better build quality) witha 15.4" Wide screen-WUXGA-1920x1200- Its in the mail now, it'll be here on thursday so I'll let you know how it is, but I got mine with basically every option (2GB instead of 4GB cause thats a $2100 upgrade) including a 4-year warentee for only $1850

So, what I am hearing is that I need to go with business class to get a 15.4 UXGA or WUXGA. Is that correct? It looks like the only way to get it with Inspiron is the E1705.

That's right. You can actually get WUXGA w/ the M1710 also, but that's also a 17" notebook.
