I leave my laptop plugged in 24/7, should I unplug it at night?

My M1730 needs to be run from the mains whever I use it, otherwise its not very stable. Whenever I switch the notebook off, I switch it off from the mains as well.

I would advise you switch it off from the mains or unplug the power adaptor when not using or charging the notebook.

Dang! lithius beat me to it. The battery guide says it all about the consequences regarding leaving it plugged in.

I have an inspiron 8200 with two batteries that are 7 years old and it has almost always been plugged in while on, or in the bag, and those batteries are still at about 80% original capacity.
