    Less Than 24 Hour To Go!

    Well, since my M1530 is coming by DHL next day I called and found out its the before 3PM service. It is now 6:40, I should have my laptop within 24 hours for sure!

    I wont be taping the unboxing, I will untap my first boot and inspection of the laptop and its screen, which will be compared to a HP DV9410us, a 42in HDTV, and a year your old Sony LCD screen.

    I will also document Vista using less than 200mb of ram :-D

    Haha DHL has a bad tendacy to just, drop packages off on the front porch and not even knock or ring the door bell. I sure hope I hear the guy come up, I dont want it getting stolen without LoJack activated yet.

    I decided against Ultimate for now, and will be keeping the factory installation. I just wrote a post on the regular Dell forum of what I'll be doing.

    Does Tuneup Utilities 2008 work pretty well? Do I need to keep it installed to keep all the tweeks it will do, or can I get rid of it once i'm done?

    I am downloading it now.

    You can uninstall it and keep the settings, wouldnt recommend it though..

    Thank you guys! Quick first impressions..

    LED Screen...WOW! Its unbelievable! Its so crisp, so clear, so BRIGHT! Its perfect!

    Keyboard is fine, but the back of the laptop that covers the RAM, all the screws were in but there are tabs that need tucked in before you screw them in, and one tab was left sticking out, POOR QC rating for that, but I fixed it in under a minute.

    Where are the battery indicator lights at? lol

    Hmmm should I do a clean install when I get home? Also Lucanesti has Vista ultimate, most of us have home premium so theres another $200 for his computer we didn't pay.

    Wish I had gotten the LED...I don't think I want 1680x1050 anymore :(
    There is no reason I can think of to have that high of res on a 15.4 inch screen...
