So after buying my refurbished xps 1210 I learned a lesson. You get what you pay for.

So far I had to replace

    -Hard drive (2 times)
    -Mother board
    -Power Adaptor

Had to reinstalled windows 10+ times

After all this I was fed up and decided to stop being so nice and respectful.

And I ended up getting a new xps 1210 that will be shipped within the next 15 days. Not a refurbished one. A brand new one.

    Thank god

Sorry to hear about your experience with dell and their systems...

Honestly you might have had the same trouble with a new one. I've had better luck buying refurb units that have been thoroughly tested than new ones coming off the production line that get the 'powers on, screen works' test and shoved in a box. I'm surprised to hear you had to replace your hard drive twice, I wonder if you wound up with a severely screwed up system from the get-go and were just throwing bandages on the bleeding each time you had it serviced. Dell should have just sent you another machine after that....

Hard drive is not really Dell's fault unless something is wrong that is not letting it spin down, and it's just spinning itself to death.

I've made two outlet purchaes in the last 6 months, and both have been fantastic laptops, first was a scratch and dent,(one minor hairline scratch that took me over 1/2 an hour to find) e1505,2nd was a refurb m1210, no complaints. Since my e1505 purchase, I've convinced many friends and family members to look at the outlet, so far 8 systems purchased not counting my own, and only one had a problem, that was easily taken care of, the lcd connector was loose, so I'm a big fan of the outlet, and will continue to use it as my first option, and reccomend it to others

Michael, for your satisfaction as onetime exception of customer care for your being a Dell valued customer, I will go ahead and offer you replacement for your order.

The problem was that upon booting up after the Windows Splash screen I just got a black screen. The comuter didnt freeze since the HDD light was flickering. They replaced every part of the laptop. They offered to change my memory but I said eff it.

I guess I was just unlucky. I have 4 dells in my house and no problems with any of them. People return things for a reason. I just hope nobody buys my laptop when it comes back as "refurbished"

the hard drive is usually active after a crash, at least in my experience since the advent of win95 osr2, it sounds to me like a memory error, I've had similar problems adding ram, you get a bad stick in there and you get all kinds of problems, if you had two sticks they should have had you remove one, and see what happens, if you still had problems remove that one and try the second, its rare that you get two bad sticks
