All right, I see here that there is alot of people wanting to buy a Laptop
It can sound weird on the internet< but i see no erason why we can't get really WELL organized
    get the money all together
and the spec we want and call dell, do somehing get ideas together to buy like
5, 10 notebook from dell at once
and see what deal we cant get from them
lets do a brainstorm with ideas
lets really get organized and cooperate to get this done
i cant affot the price of what i want
im sure alot of people want to get good stuff too
lets get in a chat< on msn messager or something as many people we can and get this done
we just need to strive to get it done
    be democratics,
get the best ideias to get it done
and get it done for real,
    resuming is
we just organized get it together
set a date and buy it somehow

it can be complicated, but it can get easy starting with 2 peoplE
if anyone or two is interested and knows what they want(pc spec) and knows exactly how mutch they can spend(money that you have that can match your specs) two of us can become three after info exchange and trust worth test and two brains thinking becomes 3 after democratic agreements between as meny as we get trusth wirthy.

I think I get what he's talking about. Like a "Group Buy" where like twenty people buy altogether so you guys can ask for a discount or something.

A "Group Buy" happened in the ASUS forum but eventually fell apart...

Dell sells 10,000 laptops at a time to large businesses so 10 or so people isn't much to them. I understand your intentions are good but the best way to get a good deal through Dell is using coupons and standard methods, they won't have anything to do with some type of "group by" or union of buyers.

Ahhhh I see, yeah Abaxter is right, your best bet is to shop around or use coupons I doubt it would make much of a difference if you had a bunch of people together placing an order. Plus it can be shady unless all the people are trustworthy which I can tell you is sometimes difficult to find out until it's already too late espescially when money is involved.

Its very tough to organize a Group Buy via forums, unless you personally know the people. People will sign up with every intention of buying, but then will change their mind last second, rendering the group out of luck. You would probably be best filling out a FAQ so we can help you pick what will be best for your needs, or lurking around the dell refurb site to see what you can find.

I think Dell will laugh at a group buy discount of any less than 1,000 or so systems. Then they'll probably all have to be the same configuration.
