    Line in sound?

    On my desktop, I used to hook my iPod up into the line in and listen to it without software or anything open. On my E1705, it plays, but I don't hear it. If I open sound recorder, and hit record, then play the sound I recorded, it plays the song. What am I missing?

    In your control panel, select Sounds and Audio Devices. Under the Audio tab, in the Sound recording section, click Volume... and make sure the Line In volume slider is where you want it, and the Select box is ticked. You might also want to poke around all of the other tabs and look for items related to Line In.

    My 1505 was formatted on day #2.

    What difference does that make? It's still the same sigmatel hd audio, and the same registry entries are created by the same (or updated) drivers.
    Even after the fix, selecting 'line in' from the recording section doesn't work.

    Here's a screenshot from right now, playing XM via the line in jack out to a stereo via the headphone jack:
