This may end up in the hardware forum, but because this has to deal with Dell, I will start out here ...

I was one of those folks that did not opt for the Intel wireless card, but tried to save a few bucks and stuck with Dell. I read, probably on this forum that the Dell wireless card used Broadcom chips.

I happen to have, an older but very reliable, Linksys wireless router with SpeedBooster.

Looking at the settings for the Dell wireless card, sure enough, there was a setting for SpeedBooster. It was disabled by default. Needless to say I enabled it.

Unfortunately I do not have benchmarks to report, but downloads and transfers to the laptop are noticably much faster.

I know the Dell network card in other posts have gotten a lot of heat and a bad rap in other posts. For me however, this card rocks.

For those of you with Linksys routers with SpeedBooster, or routers with Broadcom chips, you might want to take a look at your settings. You will be pleased and well rewarded! ;)
