    Hi,
I am getting the above msg when trying to use the built-in Web cam for Video or for “picture capture”, i.e. photos.
I removed everything with the Dell camera and reinstalled the “Creative Labs Dell Webcam Manager , 140 mb”. No joy
I also installed from the Dell site "input device drivers"- "Creative labs driver, R2RC1, A04", no joy.
Webcam works fine with Messenger therefor I am cautious to “reinstall/remove, disable” or so the Webcam Device in Device Manager since I don’t want to ruin it further.
I did a bit of searching and noticed others found solutions mainly by reinstalling drivers though this has not worked for me. Would someone have any other tips?
Here some PC details: Dell Inspiron 1525, Vista Home Premium, SP1, 2GB RAM, one reimage done around 4 months ago, not sure if it happened because of that)
    Thanking you in advance.

    Welcome to NBR.

Do you have Nero installed? I read somewhere that there might be some sort of software incompatibility with Nero software and the cam software...

If you do have a Nero software I suggested you uninstall it or update it.

    Hello all,
I have the exactly same problem as Mr. blackredgold1964 does. Mr. Blackadder suggested to uninstall Nero, I uninstalled it long time ago. However, the problem is still not solved. Would somebody help fixing the problem please?

    Thanks inadvance!!

    Dear ATG,
Apologies for not replying any earlier to your suggestion of uninstalling Nero. I lost track of the IT issues. So in case you are getting this msg, thanks for your reply.

FYI, ATG and mesi03, I uninstalled Nero but no joy. Meanwhile my laptop died completely and I believe I need to replace the motherboard next week and after reinstalling everything might work again.

    Best of luck.

dont' know. firstly, look under Start - Programs - Dell Webcam. That's where my webcam manager is sitting. Dell Webcam CENTER is sitting within Dell Webcam Manager.

When I go to the Dell Website and enter all the details of my PC, Service Tag, model etc then I get offered "Creative Laps - Driver" and "Creative Labs - Application". I don't know which is which and especially which YOU would need - Go to the Dell website and see what's on offer for YOUR PC and then install and if it does not work contact Dell.

    Good luck
