What is location 0?
My device manager reports a "HID-compliant keyboard" and a "HID-compliant mouse" in the tree....the only keyboard and mouse I am using are the Touchpad and laptop keyboard. When I go to these mysterious device's properties their location is this: "Location 0"
Any ideas?
I guess those are extra entries or whatever. But they seem to effect my computer. I had the feature of my touchpad enabled to where if a USB mouse is connected the touchpad disables. With these "extra entries" the Synaptics Driver thinks that there is a mouse plugged in, when in fact there isn't. The extra keyboard entry hasn't posed a problem thus far, but I still want it resolved.
These "extra entries" are irritating.

Each device gets a slot assigned to it. So if you have a keyboard, a controller, ect. One gets slot 0, the next gets slot 1.
This is so that programs and things can identify what devices you have and want to use.
Beware old games sometimes dont let you choose wich device to use for say a controller and it always defaults to slot 0/1 so its a pain in the but to swich the slot manaully in windows.
As far as your touchpad, atleast on my touchpad software in the advanced options there is a box to check/uncheck that says "automatcally disable touchpad device if a usb enabled pointing device is found" I turn it off because just like you it would somtimes turn my touchpad off even when I dont have my mouse plugged in. I have a hotkey to turn it off manually if i need too. -

btw my device is snapsis too so you should have the same option.
edit: oops sorry for double post must have hit quote instead of edit -
It's ok.
Yeah, these "extra" entries is what causes the Touchpad driver to believe that there is another mouse plugged in.
