    What's up,
I recently bit the bullet and decided to order 2x1GB sticks of crucial ram from newegg today. When I went to check on how to install it (of course using the dell service manuals) it only describes how to install one module of ram in the socket at the bottom of the laptop, and doesn't even say where the other one is. I'm hoping it isn't under the keyboard since I am not as confident in working inside computers as most, but I'd appreciate knowing where it is so I can stop searching all over the net!
    Thanks,
    Jake

It won't be too hard to do, even with it under the keyboard. Just look up Dell's manual on how to remove/replace the keyboard, because that will expose the other RAM slot you're looking for.

If you aren't too confident (yet!) working inside of a laptop...here's a good rule: if it feels like you are applying too much force, you probably are.

Yeh, you'll just have to unscrew the keyboard.

Go with night_2004's advice but if it is less than a year old don't open it as this invalidates any warrantees/guarantees you might have on it.

I have the e1505... both sodimms are under the back panel..The keyboard does not have to be removed in this laptop. I also recently installed 2gigs of Crucial ram with no problems.

    What's up everyone,
Thanks for the advice! I'm still not sure if it's under the keyboard or both under the computer as the last poster has said, but I"ll find out regardless when I open that bad boy up haha.
    Thanks again,
    Jake

Turn the laptop over remove the battery and unplug the power supply connection remove the screws on the memory slot panel cover.. take a look for yourself.. there will be two memory modules laying flat with their connections facing each other. In your case you will see two 512 meg modules in there..which you will have to remove when you get the new memory as per the instructions you have.
