I am torn between the Studio, Inspiron, the botom of the line Latitude and the Vostro 1520. I will have $600 to spend on one that includes the one year warranty. I don't want to go above that really. I will use it primarily for surfing the net, watching videos, and using a word processor, maybe word maybe open office, not sure.

One thing allfiredup mentioned in another thread which makes me think one of the small business class systems would be better due to the US based Customer Support, and possibly durability. These are important facotrs for me because of the horror stories I've read of people dealing with the outsourced CS. What do you guys think?

    Pam,
Since your looking at several models, your best option would prolly be to complete this The What Should I Buy Form, and then create a thread here: What Notebook Should I Buy, with that form pasted into there!

You will got the best information pertaining to what you have inputted into the form from all forum members! ;) I did it when I was torn between several Dell Models and found it to be very helpful!

Just an advertiser, judging from the nature of the post, the link, and the fact that it's been deleted. :p

If you want a used Dell, go to their own Outlet store, none of these sketchy third party computer dollar stores.
