Im in the market for a new laptop and Im pretty sure what specs I would like inside, but Ive been having some trouble deciding on the laptop size. I have the good ol inspiron 8600 and love it .absolutely no problems in almost 4 years.
However, Ive been struggling with the fact that I may want something a little smaller and lighter than the 1520. I can configure the 1420 for a fantastic price at the moment thanks to an online coupon of $425 off.
I guess my questions are .
Would you anticipate an offer better than $425 off during Thanksgiving sales?
Also the news of the XPS 1530 has me excited. I could potentially keep a 15.4 inch size, but still have a light notebook. This system appears to have all the great upgrades I would like (HDMI in particular). Would it be wise to wait for the release of this (if there is a release sometime soon) or continue with the 1420? Has there been any price estimates for the new XPS?? I anticipate a big price difference from what I can configure the 1420 for right now!!
Thanks
Mike

anyone have an opinion?

I don't expect any better coupons than $425.
However I did get an additional $100 off by talking to a Dell rep over the phone. He must have really wanted to make a sale.
I don't know when the M1530 will be out. I also don't know if Dell will be having any promotional sale when it's first released. I do know their newest laptops tend to have delivery delays when they first come out. -
i think the m1530 is worth the wait...you wouldn't want to buy a laptop and have to live with it regretting that you could of got a better laptop if you had waited...especially if u are going to use it for a very long time as you had with your inspiron 8600....
but the 'wait' might be a very long time...and expect the m1530 to be fairly pricey also ($2000?)....have you considered the m1330? its light, powerful and sexy
cant believe you can get a $425 coupon...thats a fantastic deal....we are lucky to get $200 of here in Australia : (
Looking for opinions and/or suggestions
