First of all, the new M1330 does look cool and have many good features. Those who are ordering it will definitely have a good time with it.

However, I recently ordered the M1210 right before the M1330 came out. Looking at all the spec., I think the M1210 will still serve me well; and I cannot wait to get my hands on it. Is there anybody that is in the same boat as me?

Well, have you thought about cancelling it? I'm sure Dell would allow that.

If that's not the case, and you want the M1210. That's still cool.

I was ALMOST in the same boat as you (well my brother), but we waited for the new Inspiron 1520 and we were very satisfied with it.

If you are a gamer, the M1210 isn't going to last you for that long. If not, then the M1210 is still a great machine. :D

I was sorely tempted to get the M1210 ever since it came out, but that 12" screen and the overall bulky look turned me off. To me, the M1330 solves both those problems, which is probably why I'll end up getting it.

I just received my Dell M1210 today and I'm pretty happy with it. It has a really nice look and feel to it. I ordered two last week for under $900 each with tax. The M1330 configs I'm seeing people ordering are pretty expensive. I don't really care for the look of the M1330 too much from the pictures I've seen so far.

Same boat here. I watched the price on the M1210 drop on the employee discount page withing the last 3 weeks the price dropped abut 4 times. So I jumped in and configured and order the M1210 I should have it by Tuesday. Its a good machine. But my question to the guy who said if I do gaming it won't last. what do you mean?

Will the laptop burn out under heavy game play. I will have it connected to a nice 21 inch monitor.

I think he means that the machine as whole is underpowered when running today's games. The 7400go is an average video card, better than intergrated graphics, but it's not a great gaming card.

I was in the exact same boat as you. My M1210 should be here tomorrow. I'm excited for anyone who got the 1330 but I dont like the overall design. I have no regrets and you shoudn't either. I have read so many reviews on this thing and I think its going to be a good notebook. The only thing I do regret is getting only 1GB of RAM(because of Vista). But it's cheaper to buy it from newegg anyways.

I did the same thing, as well. The M1210 has already been delivered, but I don't have my hands on it yet. I needed to make a choice soon and not spend TOO much money. I also didn't want to order something the first week it was out, without learning about issues, etc. I got the 1210 pretty loaded, and couldn't have afforded a similarly configured 1330 comfortably.

I'll let you know how it goes!

Hey if you want I can send you 1GB of DDR2 667mhz ram for the laptop. You can PM me and I will mail it to you tommorow. All I ask is that when you get it to send me the one 512MB that you will take out to replace it. I hate to see someone spend extra when I have it. I got burned I purchased a laptop on Ebay and the screen went bad but I still have 2 1GB Memory sticks. I am using one and the other you can have so let me know.

Also thanks for the info on the graphics. I don't game much. I got the sims 2 and all the expansion packs and I have lego star wars and civlization IV that's basically the extent of my gaming. I will be using the laptop on the road it will be connected to some of my audio stuff for music production. I am gonna run PropellarHead's Reasons studio software.

Well, the 8400M GS on the M1330 is only a step up from the 7400 on the M1210 because it has DX10 capability. They aren't that different right now performance wise, though.

I looked into purchasing the m1210 for months. What kept putting me off is how thick it is otherwise it fit the bill fairly well. I purchased a Toshiba U205-S5057 Salellite 12.1 and I took it back after 3 days. It was way too thick and square so I knew I wouldn't be happy with the m1210 which is the only reaosn I didn't go with it and considered the Sony 13.3 and 11.1 models but price kept holding me back. I have an m1330 coming next week but as long as looks don't bother you, you will be very happy with your purchase!

If it is in fact a CPU whine then how is it the effect of the M1210? The Core 2 Duo's in the M1210 are the same as in every other laptop. I haven't noticed anything annoying yet with mine.

i don't know but other manufacturers seem to have the same problem with their notebooks as well.
