Title says it all. Is there anything I can do about it?

If it's in warranty dell will replace the hinges. One of my friends called dell for this problem, and that's what they did.. They replaced the whole lid, actually.. I suspect that just opening the media panel and tightening the screws retaining the hinge would have done it too, but well, complete cover...

It's most definitely not in warranty. It's almost two years old. I bought it as a graduation gift "to myself" and I'm finishing my second year of college.

    I guess I'll give them a call

That was a problem going back to the Inspiron 5100. It happens over time by opening and closing the lid. I ordered a new lid from DeLL and realized the hinges had come loose.

I applied some loctite to the screws and it took care of the problem. :p

So, in other words, I can take this to someone who is experienced in working with computers and they should be able to fix it?

You could do it yourself. On the right hand side, look at the rightside and remove the hinge cover. You could slip in a flathead screw driver and do it that way. But in order to do that, you need to push down your screen to about 180 degrees so it could slip out. Try to tighten those screws you see and if thats a little better. If not, there are hinges that are most likely loose. To do this, remove the rubber things and unscrew the screws on the bezel and you still see the hinges. I think you are more than capable of doing this yourself.

Here's a documentation to walk you step by step. Trust me, it's not hard!

Yup even if you don't know what your doing and you take your time you can have it fixed in under 5 minutes. :p
