    Lost installation CD

    I was careless and have lost my windows 2000 cd that came with my dell c400.
    I've already called Dell and Microsoft but they don't replace lost cd's.
    I have tried to install non-dell windows 2000 but it don't recognize the serial .
    Do you have any idea - what to do?
