So my computer froze so i tried the ctrl, alt, del thing to bring up the task manager to see if i could exit the tasks that were frozen but i don't even have the option to start the task manager anymore. any ideas where this could have gone or how i could get it back or is there another way to get into it.

Did you try restarting your computer and seeing if you can bring it up then?

yeah i tired restarting it, turning it off and on and nothing. it just isn't there anymore. the only choices i have are lock computer, log off computer, reset password, and switch user.

check if there's a policy in place that prevents it from starting (gpedit.msc, I think).

If all else fails, run a repair install of Windows (over itself). If that fails, then you have to wipe it and start from scratch.

cntrl shift esc doesn't do anything, and right clicking on the task bar shows it in the list but it is grayed out and i cannot select it. i may have to try and reinstalling windows.

does this delete anything or just reinstalls missing things onto the computer

hey there, i found out it was disabled so i used this to get it back.

    [Start] [Run] [Regedit]
    Registry Key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
Modify/Create the Value Data Type(s) and Value Name(s) as detailed below.
Data Type: DWORD Value // Value Name: DisableTaskMgr
    Setting for Value Data: [0 = Enabled (Default) / 1 = Disabled]
    Exit Registry and Reboot

That seemed to work for me
