I recently upgraded the processor in my 9300 from a 1.6 to a 2.13 and decided to see what score I could get with 3dmark 05. Sadly, I was only able to squeeze out a score of 2293 (the old 1.6 scored about 1900) from the laptop in my sig. I have my GPU set to automatic overclocking and balanced. From what I've read concerning the go 6800 archives; I think I should be getting at least double the score I got. What do you guy's/gal's think? What am I not doing right? I'm using the free version of 3dmark 05.
Thanks in advance,
Cap

3dmark scores are less concerned with CPU than they are with the GPU. since you didn't change the GPU, why would you expect to get double your original score?
I'd say the 400 point improvement sounds about right for the cpu upgrade you did. -
It should still be hitting 4000 or so for a Geforce Go 6800 on 3dmark05. I would try to upgrade the video card drivers. 174.74 for Vista or 175.80 for XP are good choices. You can download these from laptopvideo2go.com/forum

Enduct, you are right on the money. I should be able to break 4000 easy with my configuration. My driver version is 8.4.3.0

This may be resurrecting an old subject but since I found/addressed/solved the issue in my original post I believe its worth mentioning. I went over to laptopvideo2go.com and updated my gpu driver and was able to reach much better scores with 3dmark05. Surely I'm not the only one hanging around here with and old laptop with the go6800 ?
? Any way, I tried two different drivers, one which was the latest available and the other one, older but I found that it produced a better bench mark.
177.92 NOC = 3320
167.26 NOC = 3555
167.26 OC'd to 332/699 = 4110
