Can anyone comment on the optimum M1210 setup for getting the most time out of the battery when watching a DVD only with two pairs of headphones connected.

most battery time would be to 1st rip the dvd to your hd, then turn everything off; wifi, a/v, extraneous processes/software, etc. remove dvd/cd from tray. remove any usb devices. dim screen to dimmest possible setting.

On Cyberlink power DVD there is a power saving option, not sure what it does, but i hope this helps

Wouldnt viewing the DVD while using MediaDirect be the best way? I think it just opens up whats needed to listen to music, view movies etc. And ive heard it increases battery life by 20-30%. That combined with lower brightness would help.

Well if you are in Windows DVDIdle has worked wonders for me (DVDIdle.com)
It caches the disc into memory (about 800MB at a time) so there are no spinning parts for most of the time you are watching....
