I'm about to buy a M1210 from Costco (($1,399.00 version). Would like an extra battery and the 9 cell seems like the best option. Can anyone comment on the best source(s) for this battery?
Thank you.

As of now you can only really get them directly from dell. You may be able to find some on e-bay, but you really should go to dell, as no other 3rd party companies are making them.

Thanks 159. I'm assuming (know I shouldn't) that Dell won't ship any recalled batterries with new M1210's?

The 1210 batteries arnt affected by the recall, they're perfectly fine.

The battery I have with my XPS M1210 is from Samsung SDI. Here's what it says under Windows Power Meter:
Battery Name: Dell HF6746
Unique ID: 1603 Samsung SDI Dell HF6746
Chemistry: LION
Manufacturer: Samsung SDI
It says it's Made in Korea and cells Made in Japan on the battery's label.
And as mentioned already, they are safe from the recent recalls as they only effect a certain batch of cells Made by Sony.Attached Files:
