Ive been having some fun with the integrated camera web cam on my 1210. Its working great, no problems. Like said in other places the picture is great in places with good lighiting. Im wondering about the heat it creates. I just had it on a while, just watching my self in it, and moving it around the room, testing its quality, and taking some video. As I turned it off and was closing the screen, I grabed the back of the camera to close it. It was extreamly hot. I was just wondering if this is normal, are other 1210 users seeing the same thing? And would it possibly damage the camera if its on for an extented period of time, like say capturing video for an hour or so? Thanks for any input.

I have the same computer, and in the users manual it talks about the camera.
It states that while the camera is in use it will be "warm to the touch"
So it should be normal -
OK that makes me feel a little better. Thanks. The thing is mine wasnt really "warm to the touch" it was hot to the level of it caused me a minor amount of pain to touch it.

well I mean it is a webcam, its designes so you can like do video chat and record classes and stuff so I'd imagine its made to be on for at least an hour or so. And if they say 'warm to the touch' thats Hot, Dell isnt going to say it gets 'hot'

Initially, I was somewhat content with the picture quality on my m1210. In regular old incandesent lighting at night though, the image has a horrible green tinge and is extremely grainy. Is this normal?
-
Same here mantheorem. When there is good lighiting, of if im outside with it, the picture qualitly is outstanding. But indoors or with poor light, it is a bit grainy. This is to be expected. If you havent already, go into the camera's options and turn "low light boost" on. It makes the video a little less smooth, but drastically helps image quality.

actually i have made a post about this before (and i don't think i have recieved any response from it)
anyways, i have noticed that the camera module gets warm/hot even when i haven't used it at all. i switched on the computer, did some IE browsing, movie watching, then switched off computer and closed the lit when i noticed that the camera was hot. am i alone? -
yes it is normal after about 15 min it becomes very hot -
-
Yeah mine get a little warm even if I havent used it at all, its a little warm now and I havent used it once today. It must be getting power or something, ready to be used, so that may be why it get a little warm. But in regular use it gets down right HOT.
