    Hi gang,

My m1210 has always run fine, and since I've had it I'll use it in a remote spot then run back to my desk to plug it in whilst I attend to something else, then run and unplug it, use it for a while and plug it back several times.

A while ago (not sure when) it began locking up when I attach the power cord after it's been used for a while unattached. It now does it most of the time. Whenver I reattach power if I've been using it off power it locks up. Total lock-up requiring reboot. Any thoughts??

    Thanks,
    yooper

    Any weird programs installed?
Usually reconnecting the cord means that some notebooks will experience a flicker in the power supply(abandoning the battery and switching to the external supply),So if some special program is running it might cause the lock up.
For example if I reconnect the power coord when I am connected via dial-up the connection will be gone.So it might make some apps unhappy.
It's usually advised to hibernate when switching to external power to prevent experiencing the flickering.

I don't think there are any strange programs. I've been very careful to not install many programs so this will run fast. I'll try hybernating first.

Well, I just did it but before reconnecting, I closed the screen. Everything worked fine. I was wondering if maybe I've got a little static electricity thing going with it being winter here and there's so much of that in my house.... Now that I think of it, maybe that's what's going on. I just disconnected and reconnected the cord without closing the screen with no issues, but I've just been sitting here, not walking around building up a charge. Do you think that could be the culprit?
