Well as of a few days ago Vista told me there was a new driver available for the m1210's Geforce 7400 Go. There are some great new things in it!

    also, some severe negatives

    first positives i've noticed:

Enables most of nvidia control panel that was hidden. This allows for color/contrast/saturation/gamma control etc. I also noticed it fixed a few other options and brought them from the XP version into vista. This is great, it really overcomes the lack of contrast issues I was having with my monitor! Wow what a great fix.

Power management is replaced with what looks like the new Powermizer 8.0 which clocks the 7400 with PCIe throttling in the battery manager. This replaced the old management system that seems to clock the processor itself or something (correct me if im worng, but im sure something has changed here)

Battery life increased by 30-45 minutes. (on 9 cell battery)

Thats right, I was pushing out 7 hours of wireless browsing after this update. A big BIG increase in battery life!

    Negatives: (a big one)

    PERFORMANCE!!!

Aero performance suffers a noticeable amount. Switcher which uses aero to emulate expose ran smooth as butter in high power mode, and reasonably well in power saver. Now it runs somewhat well in higher power mode and below average in power saver (probably a side affect of the new more aggressive Powermizer?) but when im plugged in I can't seem to get the full power i once drew from!

Anyone notice download this update yet? It is labeled as an optional update so you have to go into WindowsUpdate and check the box next to it. But be forewarned to the consequences.

Anyone know how I can uninstall this and go back to my possibly better original driver?

If you are talking about the DELL driver then, glad to hear that DELL finally decided to unlock some of the features of the original nVidia driver.

But I’ve never used the DELL driver, instead I use the actual nVidia (moded) driver from lpaptopvideo2go. It has all the features and powermizer options enabled by default.

No this was not a dell driver (i don't think) since i downloaded it directly from WindowsUpdate? Anyone know how I can roll back this update?

Download and extract the driver on to the hard disk. Replace the original inf file with the correct modified inf file matching the driver version (Modified inf file is also available at the driver download page). Then run the setup.exe.

Modified INF has support for Go cards including Go 7400. If you search the file for "Go 7400" you'll find the following line:
    NVIDIA_G72.DEV_01D8.1 = "NVIDIA GeForce Go 7400"

OK after using nTune (something no one on this forum seems to use) the Laptop Video 2 go drivers and the new Vista one, I uninstalled them all and and went back to the original Dell driver on the disk. I dunno why, but this one was by far and away the very best. It ran everything much better than any of the overclocking that I did in nTune or with lv2go. But if you get better performance with lv2go please tell me what your settings were.

the powermizer is included in the background of the dell driver, but it is not accessible through the control panel. If you update using the vista driver it is accessible, but like i said, it ruined my performance.

Boot up in safe mode and uninstall the old driver then reinstall the one on the cd.

no, do one of two things. Get the full tool by installing nTune or go to your windows update and click the check box next to nvidia driver update.
