Hi,
I own a XPS M1210 and it has 1GB splited in 2x512MB sticks.
I bought a G Skill 2GB stick (1x2GB) and would like to know if i can leave one 512MB stick and install the 2GB, so i'll have 2.5GB installed instead of just install the 2GB stick and leave one slot empty? Will this configuration have any conflicts problem?
Thanks in advance ...

I am not sure about this, but I think your m1210 allows a max of 4gb to be installed on ur mboard. I think you should be alright......

Yes, it supports up to 4GB. But i'll like to check if it'll work with a 512MB stick + a 2GB stick ...

It will work fine, but not in dual channel. Which is moot really, since just haveing the 2gb chip wouldn't do that either. You'll be fine.
If one runs hotter than the other, though, you could pick where you put them for comfort/stability. but that's going to be negligable.
Go for it. -
Thanks gohanssjn. I'll try the 2.5GB configuration as soon as my G Skill arrives, which will be april 8-10 ...
