Got my new M1210 today and wanted to upgrade from the Vista Home Premium to Ultimate.

Ran the upgrade and most things seemed ok except for the following:
    - No sound but got that working after reinstakking the drivers and messing with sound settigns finally.
    - Bluetooh, I can't seem to get it to show up in the taksbar or on the control panel so no way to access it.
    - Macafee, doesn't seem to work on Ultimate. It has an error on the realtime scan and when you click Fixit jsut gives and error and cannot fix itself.

Any ideas on what I need to do to resolve these or is it best to jsut do the Dell restore back to Premium?

If I try and run the 355 bluetooth driver install for Vista I get this error:
"This installer be run on Windows Vista only."

Hmm, was going to do the Dell recovery and it seems Ctrl-F11 does nothing on boot, just goes to Vista :-\

I guess I should have not upgraded from Premium as I seem stuck now.

Any suggestions on how best to move forward with this? I seem stuck as is now but my concern is getting everything working properly, such as the webcam button, wireless lan, etc if I go with a full reformat and clean install.

Is there any way to run the Pc Restore without the Ctrl F11 way as that is not an option now either?

Well technically the upgrade shouldn't of broken your install. All it does is an in-place upgrade of Vista and enables or turns on specific features.

This was not the Anytime Upgrade, this was running upgrade from the DVD but yes I agree technically it shouldn't but it did, it also messed up the sound and McAfee never worked after either. So I suspect the build Dell ships with Vista isn't so typical to begin with.

Now I just need to either fix Bluetooth or find a way to move back, ahead, or sideways the easiest way.
